Well, we’re off to a roaring start this year. We kicked off our Spring with a Concat held at Charlie’s Grill in Windsor, CA. 6 new Kittens joined our ranks. It was a wonderful time. We had a very special guest, John Taylor, 1st VP of the International Club, present to perform the duties of the visiting officer. John instructed the kittens on what it is to be a Hoo-Hoo and the incredible value you can gain from participating fully in this organization. John told the story of how Hoo-Hoo is like a three-legged stool. The 1st leg is Social, 2nd leg is Educational & the 3rd leg Philanthropic. By plugging into these three levels of Hoo-Hoo you will gain the entirety of what Hoo-Hoo is all about.
During our last two board meetings we did a short Concat to bring on board two more additional member that were unable to attend the regular event. We’ve added 8 new members in the 1st three months. We’re well on our way to meeting our goal of increasing membership by the end of the year.
On April 19th Black Bart hosted its annual Trap Shoot at the Ukiah Rifle & Pistol Club. There were 80 shooters in attendance at this event and many more there to help and attend the BBQ lunch that came at the end of the shoot. The Blue Bird Café had a wonderful BBQ lunch for the one hundred members and guests in attendance. One of the big draws for this event is the fantastic comradery and competition between friends. There also happens to be a huge raffle with swag from many of our sponsoring partners. We also had a special gun raffle at the end of lunch for those who purchased tickets for the draw. This was a huge success. The club gave away four guns to those lucky enough to have their card drawn from the hat.
Glock, Benelli, Browning & Springfield guns were given away. The most coveted award was given to Caprice Allen from Club #63 Humboldt. She works for BMD Eureka, with a trophy for Dead Ass last with the worst score of the event. However, this also comes with free entry to next year’s event. Way to go Caprice!
Black Bart's next event is our Golf Tournament on October 4th held at the Ukiah Golf Course. The flyer will be going out this week. We would love it if you could join us.
