Black Bart Hoo-Hoo 181 Publicity Report - Fall 2023

Hi from Northern California!

On October 6, 2023, and a beautiful fall day in Mendocino County, Black Bart Hoo-Hoo Club 181 held its annual golf and BBQ at the Ukiah Valley Golf Course, Ukiah CA on. Seventy-one golfers, mostly lumber people who know how to convert BF but not so much a par or a birdie, took their best swings at the little white, orange, yellow or oak ball and hoped for the best. At the end of the round, most of us were humbled, a bit sunburned but happy. The Blue Bird Café put on another delicious spread for lunch. President Steve Bernardi thanked everyone for coming and thanked event chairs Dave Dahlen and Aaron Newhouse for organizing a great event and Secretary Hannah Moreo for making sure everyone was checked in and ready to play. Thank you, Ren Reinke, for taking photos!

The best team scores won the day. All enjoyed a great day of fellowship and fun.

  • First Place Team at 14 under - Damien Bird, Ryan Carroll, Treavor Thurston, D. Thurston.

  • Long Drive – Damien Bird 299.9 yards –

  • Close to the pin on number 9 – 9’9” Ryan Carroll.

Congrats to all you winners!

Thank you to all our sponsors and donors of raffle prizes. We cannot put on a great event or grow Black Bart Hoo-Hoo without you.

We were happy to have the Hoo-Hoo International Supreme Nine and Gurdon Jeff Ward and the Hoo-Hoo International 1st Vice President John Taylor attend the tournament. These guys put in a lot of work to keep Hoo-Hoo alive and well and their presence is always appreciated.

This tournament would be no fun without all of you. It is always a great time when lumber people get together to enjoy each other’s company, talk story, talk industry and just have fun together. We are part of a very special lumber industry and Hoo-Hoo keeps it united.

Thank you all for attending!
