Our Story – More Wood than Wine
The Black Bart Hoo-Hoo Club was chartered on May 2, 1956, as the 181st chapter of the Concatenated Order of Hoo-Hoo. Named after a colorful stagecoach bandit from the early days in Northern California, our group has a like-minded sense of mystery and fun. Our geographic birthplace and charter location is Ukiah, California, in Mendocino County. We serve the areas north of San Francisco Bay, which includes Sonoma, Napa, and Mendocino Counties. Although this region is well known for its products in a bottle, our expansive forests and history of lumbering helped build much of California and beyond.
We exist to unite the forest products industry by providing a professional and fun platform that promotes fraternity, fellowship, networking, and goodwill toward others. We strive to serve the forest products industry and our communities by educating the next generation of lumber people and through our charitable community contributions. We preserve the heritage of great lumber related professions and also the Hoo-Hoo fraternity by passing on valuable industry knowledge and tradition.
